Ethimo and Elena Salmistraro present Loop, a sofa that merges Ethimo’s expertise in outdoor design with Elena Salmistraro’s visionary creativity, transforming the concept of seating into a fluid, dynamic ‘sculpture’ open to multiple interpretations.
Loop is conceived as an element that goes beyond the traditional function of seating: a fluid system of volumes that intertwine to create continuous forms, with no beginning or end. Its rhythm is natural and welcoming, designed to connect people and space in a spontaneous way.
Accessible from every side, Loop eliminates the distinction between front and back and invites a free, fluid conviviality, where space is experienced in a spontaneous and shared way. “Loop was conceived as an organism rather than a simple piece of furniture. It is an outdoor sofa with a fluid body, built through organic volumes that intertwine and support one another, creating a continuous, natural, almost instinctive movement,” says Elena Salmistraro.
Elena Salmistraro
Elena Salmistraro is an Italian product designer and artist. After studying at the Brera Academy and Politecnico di Milano, she founded her studio in 2009, developing projects that span design, art, and visual arts. Her language combines art and industrial production, creating expressive objects defined by three-dimensional textures and vibrant colors. Inspired by illustration, nature, and cultures from around the world, her work is distinguished by a strong narrative and emotional dimension. Her projects have been exhibited in major international museums and exhibitions. In 2017, she received the Salone del Mobile Milano Award as Best Emerging Designer and was appointed Ambassador of Italian Design.
