At the start of the new year, from 16 – 22 January, Ethimo has chosen the IMM Cologne international trade fair to present its new 2017 collection.
In an exhibition space where wood and bright light showcase the contemporary lines of outdoor furniture, Luca Nichetto’s Esedra collection, Archiproducts Awards 2016 and Wallpaper Design Awards 2017 winner, will play a starring role.
Featuring the union of aluminium and teak with a synthetic fibre that uses special technology to recreate the typical sensations of natural weaving, Esedra is a complete collection of lounge chairs and dining solutions, the very expression of Italian style.
Ethimo’s space also features the Swing line, by Patrick Norguet, completed by a dining set, and several versions of the new Play table, as well as showing off some of the brand's most representative collections, such as Knit, Costes and Ginger and Carrè lamps.
IMM 2017 will also see the debut of the Kilt chair, designed by Marcello Ziliani. The stainless steel structure coexists in total equilibrium with the braided rope of the seat and backrest, ensuring comfort, durability and versatility.
The Ethimo stand will also include the Agave collection, born from our collaboration with Mattia Albicini. The solid teak is painstakingly crafted, to recreate the soft movements, the fine profiles and silky surface of agave, the plant that inspired the design of the entire collection. A design experiment that culminated in the successful combination of comfort and design, recalling with renewed sensitivity the typical forms of the '50s.
The Stitch chair, an established part of the Ethimo catalogue, has been reworked with an aluminium frame and natural teak slats. A new finish that makes it ideal to furnish both private spaces and contract settings.
